About Me

Tara Headshot 2020

With over fifteen years of experience teaching, preparing curriculum, tutoring, and editing, my three primary content areas are: process-oriented writing, critical thought/literary analysis, and creative writing. I hold a B.A. in English, an M.F.A in Creative Writing, and an M.Ed in Professional Counseling.

Previous publishing credits include interviews, gallery reviews, newspaper articles, creative writing in print and online journals, and web copy for small companies. Past positions include full-time faculty at a governor’s school in Virginia teaching Language Arts and Creative Writing; adjunct instructor in the First-Year Writing Program at Montclair State University, and Associate Editor for a high-profile online journal of the arts. Currently I teach in the Program for Rhetoric and Composition at William Paterson University and at the Montclair Adult School.
